This is why...
I started this web log after watching Roots: The Next Generations. I wanted to chronicle my search for my own roots, a journey that had started about 8 years ago. I still can't say why I stopped researching my family history then. I just don't remember.
But in 2007, the 30th Anniversary of Roots (and The Next Generations) was celebrated on TVOne. As I watched what is a past shared by so many people I know, I couldn't help but pick up my notebook, purchased all those years ago and begin again.
So far, it has been an interesting and upsetting journey, and I have to keep telling myself that it's okay to keep moving forward.
Hopefully someone will find something useful here, perhaps someone will find something interesting here. I just want to share this.
